Do Now (10 mins):
First, copy your homework in your Agenda:
1. Read the article and activity for "A Pink Lizard and Striped Fish" and "Saving Peter Rabbit"
2. "The Camel Library" Questions

Write the answer on p. 31L of your InteractiveNotebook.

What is the ad appealing to and what persuasive strategy is being used? 


The ad appeals to (pathos/logos/ethos) , and it uses the (avant garde, plain folks, bandwagon, etc) strategy.

On the left side of your desk, leave your Agenda open.  I will check this while you are working.

Identify the main idea of an article on TeenBiz30000 by summarizing the text in their own words.

  3. Start the 5 step lesson 
  4. Read & Listen to the Vocabulary
  5. As you read the article, STOP 3 TIMES and fill in the SUMMARIZE box.  This will be graded.
  6. When you do the ACTIVITY, refer back to the article for answers.
  7. On the Thought Question, remember to click on "Include in Your Answer" so you can get a 3 or 4 score.
  8. If you finish early, do the Stretch Article!
