Digital Agenda: Thursday 8/8 & Friday 8/9!

Do Now (10 mins):
Write 
 5 “It’s important___” sentences about laptop use on your scratch paper.

On the left side of your desk, make a pile of Agenda, syllabus, and summer reading assignment if you have it today.  I will check this while you are writing.

Whole Class (20 minutes):

Finish the Response to Literature Essay
In “Little by Little, Piece by Piece,” the older brothers change dramatically. Show how and why they changed. Make clear the lesson the older brothers learned.
·         In the first paragraph, write a brief, focused summary.
·         In the second paragraph, analyze how the brother changed
·         Support your analysis with evidence from the story using academic language. 
·  Be sure to proofread your paragraphs by reading them again after you are finished, and correct any errors you find!
·  After you finish proofreading, take out your SDR book and read!


Direct Station (45 mins):

Students organize and label interactive notebooks following PowerPoint directions.


Independent/Collaborative Group (45 mins):

Students work in partners to highlight Student Handbooks and complete the Scavenger Hunt activity.
